TENT SELECTION
PROSPECTOR or WALL TENTS are for use with external poles. These tents are reinforced at internal stress points and have grommets every 2’ on exterior peak and eave flaps. Most seams are triple stitched. A one-foot overlap flap, complete with ties, serves as the door closure.
INTERNAL FRAME TENTS are for wood or steel frames. These tents are slightly oversized to allow for shrinkage. A full 6” reinforcing strip is sewn into the interior peak and eaves. Marine Fire Retardant canvas is highly recommended.
FABRIC OPTIONS
10 oz. NATURAL CANVAS is very breathable and provides for a comfortable shelter at an attractive price. Due to its 10% shrinkage factor, natural canvas fabric should only be used on tents designed with outside frames or poles where shrinkage is less critical.
10 oz. MARINE FIRE RETARDANT CANVAS is of a higher quality than natural canvas. It is breathable, water repellant, has a tighter weave and is treated for mold and mildew resistance. The flame retardant treatment has a CPA1-84 rating (a high California Fire Marshall spec.). Shrinkage factor is only about 2%.
